CAUCASUS  DATELINE

2000: September 7

Child Rights National Network Platform organized by WomenAid-Georgia, Child Rights & Well-being Centre, Tbilisi. Theme: Implementation of Child Rights in Georgia-Follow Up on CRC Observations.
Earlier this year the Georgian government presented, under Article 44 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, its Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.  The NGO community also presented its ‘Alternative Report’ to the Committee and many NGOs were involved in the preparation of the report. The meeting provides a national platform for both a ‘Report Back’ and a ‘Follow Up’ on the Observations and Recommendations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child to the government of Georgia.
