PROJECT MANAGER/TRAINER

12 months fixed contract  (Tbilisi based with some travel to Kutaisi and Batumi).

Under the overall guidance of the WomenAid Project Management Team and in close collaboration with other staff of the Tbilisi based Health & Gender Equity Centre, the Project Manager/Trainer will be responsible for the implementation of the project.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop contacts with strategic stakeholders in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi, identify key participants and prepare/deliver project presentation seminars;

  • Research, formulate, develop and implement training modules/seminars on gender violence including the development of related questionnaires and survey materials;

  • Coordinate and manage the overall activities of the project, including training and field activities;

  • Liaise, collaborate and consult with all project partners and beneficiaries, arrange and attend meetings, producing reports/minutes of meetings as necessary;

  • Systematically collect relevant data/information and maintain administrative and financial records and participate in general office administration.

  • Overall responsibility for preparation and production of project reports.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in a relevant field and expertise in women’s reproductive and sexual health and family planning;

  • Understanding of, and commitment to, gender equity with knowledge of relevant international and national women’s health rights instruments and legislation.

  • Substantial experience as a trainer and awareness raising skills.

  • Working experience with an international and/or national NGO and experience in project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting

  • Experience and in depth knowledge of Georgian socio-economic and political issues. 

  • A proven ability to manage a team combined with excellent administrative, financial and communication skills;

  • Skilled computer literacy in all Microsoft office programs, including data processing skills;

  • Fluency and excellence in English, Russian and Georgian language skills, written and oral.

WomenAid International Caucasus is the Caucasus regional representative partner of WomenAid International (WAI), a British based humanitarian and development agency, that also advocates for human rights awareness and gender equality. WAI began its operations in the Caucasus in 1994 in partnership with ECHO, WFP and UNHCR.

‘UNDERSTANDING GENDER VIOLENCE’ TRAINING PROGRAMME

The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund has awarded WomenAid International-Caucasus funds to implement a 12 month national programme of awareness raising and gender sensitivity training in gender violence issues and women’s human rights to police, law enforcement officers, service providers and other professionals in Georgia.  The project will produce an  ‘Understanding Gender Violence’ Toolkit and dedicated website.  WomenAid International-Caucasus will implement the project through the Tbilisi based Health & Gender Equity Centre.

SELECTION PROCESS
